LEJOG Talk

Two Mills have kindly extended an invite to join them via Zoom for the LEJOG talk evening of Thursday 6th January:

In August this year, some of our Two Mills members cycled Land's End to John O'Groats, supported by Peak Tours. Glenn and Helen have kindly offered to talk about their challenging experience, share photos etc on the evening of Thursday 6th January. There is more certainty about this going ahead because it is a remote meet-up using Zoom. It would be great to see you and maybe hear about your cycling adventures, too. Don't be shy. Janet Gregory is extending the invite to others in Chester and North Wales and our Wirral Bicycle Belles. Remember to message Janet [email protected] in advance so that she can send you the joining instructions.

The Link

I'm a bit short of articles for the next edition of your club magazine, the Link. I totally understand this year has been a bit of an odd year and not everyone has been able to do their usual trips/adventures but if you have anything up your sleeve that you think others would be interested in reading please send it to [email protected] with any accompanying photographs as soon as possible but by 5th December would be great. Many thanks, Janet Jones - Link Editor

A55 Tai'r Meibion to Abergwyngregyn Improvement -route diversion for cyclists

The ongoing major (trunk) road improvement works will require cycles to be diverted from the A55 dual carriageway onto the parallel NCN route 5. We understand that the necessary traffic regulation order has been made and that it will be effective from 1st February 2021 or from when the necessary traffic signs are in place (whichever is the latter) and that it will last until the major road works are completed. The prohibition affects the A55 between J11 (Llandygai))and J15 (Llanfairfechan). We have met today with a senior representative of the project team and have stressed the importance of diversionary signposting and of regular and frequent inspection and maintenance in order to ensure that the diversion route is adequately maintained and that it is fit for purpose at all times. It would appear that the diversion will be effective as from 14th or 21st February (when the necessary signs are in place). So, in short, the message for cyclists is to avoid the A55 between J11 and J15 for the foreseeable future. Please pass the word amongst the cycling community.
