CTC Winged Wheel Re-dedication, Corwen
The ceremony to return this very rare cast iron wall plaque to its original location is now scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday 19th April. After the ceremony, attended by local CTC District Association President, Mike Cross, and other local dignitaries, a 'Wheel to Wheel' cycle ride is planned to Bala, where a similarly rare example of a CTC Winged Wheel is to be seen in the High Street. Treasure Hunt Start between 9.30 and 10.00a.m. Entry fee £1.50.
A series of questions of varying difficulty whose answers can be found along the route. Approx 14 miles. Team and individual competitions.
Map Reading Competition Start at 1.00pm. Entry fee £1.50. Details of the 26 controls worth varying points will be given out at the start of the competition. Each competitor will have to work out their own route and visit the controls to try to accumulate the maximum number of points. GPS equipment is not allowed. Riders who are collecting points for Tourist Competition must ride as individuals.

Aqueduct Audax 175k
Sign on from 7:30am. Start time is 8:00am. 170.5km in length, where the A5 follows the valleys, the route climbs the hills to either side, including the Ceiriog Ridgeway, Horseshoe Pass, Clocaenog Forest, Migneint and Panorama for a total ascent of 2200 metres. Checkpoints are in Ruthin, Sportsman's Arms (Brenig) and Bala. The event is classified as a Brevet Populaire and qualifies for the DATC and AAA competitions. A number of long, steady climbs, though none are excessively steep; this is a bicycle ride, not a hike. Entry fee applies. Entry form here.

Bob Clift Memorial Rides 50 or 100 mile routes
This is an interesting route along quiet Cheshire lanes. There are some hills but they are not too steep. Your entry fee of £6 covers lunch and refreshments mid-morning and at the end of the ride + route sheet. You have all day to complete the ride so take your time and enjoy the scenery.

Bert Bailey Memorial Veterans' 100 mile Ride
The route is about as flat as you could find in this area and follows parts of the Dee and Severn valleys. Lunch is at Llandrinio near to the Breidden Hills. Entries are limited to those aged 50+ and to 100 riders so early application is advisable. Entry fee applies. Entry form here.

Sign on from 8:00am. Start time is 8:30am. The ride is quite hilly with climbs spaced throughout the length of the route. Some of the ascents are steep, 15% and over. The maximum gradient is around 20% but all should be manageable with appropriate gearing. Route published later. Entry fee applies. Entry form here.
