Wrexham Group
The Wrexham Group the Chester and North Wales CTC meets regularly at two venues in the area. Rides are usually the 1st Saturday and the 3rd Sunday of the month unless there is a Chester and N. Wales event on the same day. There is a great choice of locations to ride to from Wrexham which ensures there is a mixture of flat and hilly rides on the programme. Generally the rides are longer in the summer to make the most of the better weather and longer days.
The rides start at cafes with at least one other cafe stop during the day. Some members come for a chat and a cup of tea even if they are not intending to ride with the group that day. Meeting in cafes, gives new riders a chance to be introduced to other riders in the Group before starting the rides.
On the first Saturday of the month we meet in the Expresso Cafe (near Somerfield) in Gwersyllt at 9am for the first cafe of the day. Saturday rides are generally shorter and easier than the Sunday rides, so may be better suited to new members. (The Cafe Hoppers meet at the same cafe on all of the other Saturdays in the year and every Tuesday).
On the third Sunday the group meets at Wrexham Baths (in the cafe again) at 9am. Rides tend to be longer than on Saturdays with some over 70 miles in the summer.
Leaders and suggested destinations appear on the rides list; you may wish to contact the leader to discuss the intended route and distance. At times rides need to change at short notice, so please check with the leader if you have selected a ride because it is going to a particular destination.
